Hooks ain't hooks; interesting discovery today, my new batch of bread flies were tied on Black Magic hooks (1st time I've used them). I was getting bumped very often but not getting any hook ups. Anyway, I put one of my old flies on (tied on Kamasan hooks) and hooked up straight away. The black magic hooks must be too heavy and visible to the fish. Moral - don't skimp on buying cheap hooks! Needless to say, the BM hooks have been relegated.
