Fish I.d Lockyer Creek
« on: January 03, 2014, 01:13:26 PM »
Hey guys just chasing some info on some fish I have been catching and spotting lately in the Lockyer creek. The particular section I have been fishing is in between Lake Clarendon and Glenore Grove. Generally we catch tandans, eels, yellow bellow and spangled perch. they are the ones that have been caught on the rod. in the shallows in the net I have been getting rainbow fish guppies baby tandan, baby mullet and from what I can tell a gudgeon of some sort possibly also a very streamlined shiny silver fish which could also possibly be Silver carp. there is also a lot of surface action some of it is definitely mullet as I have seen them jumping like they do but some is very aggressive striking at the surface at bugs im assuming possibly bass? these fish are quiet large and have so far avoided the hook. I have also been going down late at night to get eels for shark bait and have seen small schools a a silver fish with quit a prominent dorsal fin with a similar shape to barra I'm thinking it is carp possibly I have no idea. hopefully someone could help me find out what these fish are or even come out for a fish and see for your self. I will attach some pictures of the silver fish and gudgeon when I can.

Fishing with mates doesn't get much better than that ;)

Without the pictures it will be hard to tell. Attach what pictures you can, even if the quality isn't good. Or even video from your phone of the surface activity....
