Fair way to end the season
« on: May 26, 2013, 12:54:45 AM »
Well that's the fresh done for me till sept, not a bad finish with 40+ Bass (between two of us) with 10 over 50 including a 58 and finally the magic 60 and what a difference that 2cm makes, that girl was busting at the seams, gonna be a long 3 months but I reckon I'll still be smilin'.

Some good fish there Steve  :thanks

I would say a few horses thats for sure.

I am a hard task master and I will be the first to go on a limb and say no Unicorn for ME

But by all means if you wish to claim it as one then you can  :youbeauty

Congrats on an awesome session mate.  :Clap) Absolute cracker of a way to top off the season.

If that fish aint a 60, then it'll do me until I see one myself. An absolutely cracker, well done.  :Clap)

And thanks for sharing, you've got me fired up for a last ditch dash for bass this week.  :youbeauty

Steve until today I didn't know what a unicorn was, it was just another PB to me and something to rub my mates noses in :-)
I will add though that when I first held her down she went 60 but that mat has a bendy end stop and it can go 10 or more mm either way if your not holding it which is hard when your on your own add to that the silly fish wouldn't play the game when that silly red light on the camera went off and I wanted to get her back as soon as possible so I settled for that. Not to fussed on what it went but was really impressed with the size of her, if you compare the girth on the mat shots between the 58 and her it'll give you some idea. The best news is she's still there and I hope one of yous gets a shot at her, you wont forget it I'm sure :-)
P.S I actually measured the 58 on the yak and it went 60 so I paddled to the beach to check, it makes a big difference laying those mats straight ;-)
Good luck hunting her down.

Just for interest sakes, do you happen to know the width of that yellow measuring mat? That biggest bass is about as deep (body wise) as the mat is wide  :OMG

I measure the tape at 200mm wide.  That is the biggest Bass I've seen.  Congratulations.  Awesome fish.

Some really nice fish there mate, I'll bet they put a good bend in the rod. Basser's $100 is looking a little shaky.

Great work!! I think that is a confirmed 60cm Bass for sure! I went out yesterday and only caught 2 45cm bass and not from lack of casts or trolling... Very quiet day in the Lowood area. What body of water did you see all that action?

Congrats mate.  Some top models in that lot. From the posted pics I'd be happy to call it a 60cm model myself.  It would have straightened the hooks a little?

Cheers, Pete

No Pete I'd replaced them with 3X VMCs, the Stumpjumper can handle the extra weight, most of my lures get upgraded trebles but it can effect the action on smaller lures so you need to be careful what you use.
