Title: Lure choices for Lake Moogerah
Post by: tak35bne on December 08, 2016, 11:56:55 AM
Looking for advice on Bass surface and sub-surface lures to use in Lake Moogerah. Thinking of an early morning trip down there for a fish before the ski boats head out.

Don't waste time with surface lures at Moogerah. Try black/purple/natural colour spinnerbaits or deep divers. Best of luck. Let us know how you go  :youbeauty

Chep is correct. The main food source for bass at Moogerah are  bony bream. These will school up into massive bait balls at various depths. Therefore, the bass will follow suit. If you want a surface bite, go to Maroon dam. There are no bony bream in maroon, so the bass are more in tune with picking off tasty morsels from the surface. Low light periods are the go for surface action. 👍
