Maintenance underway at Lake Brewster
4 March 2015 - NSW State Water

A Central West company has been engaged to carry out maintenance works on the main dividing embankment at Lake Brewster.

Central West Civil will commence works this week to provide erosion protection to the main dividing embankment.

Water NSW Project Manager Janaka Weeraratne said the maintenance works were expected to take around three months to complete.

“The major earthworks for the Lake Brewster Water Efficiency Project completed in 2010 resulted in changes to bank formations and the operating regime of the lake.

“Maintenance works are now required to ensure the banks continue to be protected from erosion,” Mr Weeraratne said.

“The benefits of the water efficiency project have been realised with reduced evaporation and improved water quality in the lake.”

The maintenance works will not impact regular water operations.
