Lure scent

(1/1)

parky:
Hey guys

I am looking at using a lure scent, more so on soft plastics when fishing for bass. I read on google that a oil, garlic and salt mix works. Has any one used this and if so does it work?

Does anyone have a recipe for a homemade scent for bass fishing?

Cheers parky.

if you get some s-factor or sex paste and get onto a site called billfishjuice they are the manufacturers of the active ingredient of sfactor.  it comes in a powder, and just dose the normal s factor up with it.  we use it on the fingerlings and is great stuif.  works well for the bream up here. only a few of us hatchery guys know about it, and its the bomb.

cheers

Parky,

Garlic certainly works I have a full range of soft plastics from the USA that I carry in my webstore which all stink of the stuff :o  Coffee or anise also work well.  As for recipes I have never contemplated it however just found this from that wonderful thing they call G :o :ogle

Seems like a lot of hard work to me and probably the wife nagging me to get rid of that smelly stuff out of her kitchen would be enough to stop me from trying.  There are some Garlic based scents on the market allbeit they are a little on the expensive side (my opinion).  But I guess if all else fails put the thinking cap on and have a crack at your own, I guess you could then spend copius amounts of time testing your concoctions on our finned friends all in the name of science of course  :P

Good Luck in your quest Parky, I am not sure I helped you out any there but please let us know how you go.  If you get into too much trouble trying out the above methods give me a yell I will chuck ya some freebie plastics I carry that stink of garlic.

Regards
Colin Linton

If you want a Garlic scent you can buy a spray can of Garlic Infused Cooking Oil at Woolies.  We've used it with success and it's not as messy as the liquid garlic scent!

I think one of the most important things scent does is to cover up the human smell. oils, chemicals etc
