Everything is in place, including the weather, for a great Trout Weekend

The staff of Inland Fisheries Service (IFS) have been busy all this week (16 – 20 May 2016) preparing for the coming weekend. Posters will be displaying the latest work by the IFS , aquariums will have the fish that inhabit Tasmania’s rivers and lakes, vendors are ready to show and sell their wares and most importantly the brown trout have turned up in force in the Liawenee Canal, all in time for the big weekend.

Despite what has been a thankfully wet month, the forecast for the weekend is pretty good by Central Plateau standards with a top of 11 degrees Celsius on both days, light to moderate northerly winds and cloudy with a chance of showers late on Sunday.

So come along to Trout Weekend which runs from 10 am to 3 pm Saturday and Sunday this weekend.
