Calling all anglers to join the Jindabyne Trout Society
The Jindabyne Trout Society (JTS) is looking for new members to join the group to help with its ongoing work of caring for freshwater fisheries in the Snowy Mountains.

The society has a meeting next Tuesday night, November 23, at 6.30pm and invites any interested anglers or locals to come along and join the group.

The meeting will be held at Steve Williamson’s Trout Information and Education Centre at Horizons Resort and meetings will be held regularly over the season. Membership costs only $10 per annum and the club looks forward to new members coming along.

The Jindabyne Trout Society is a sub-branch of the Monaro Acclimatisation Society (MAS) that has been in existence for more than 70 years.

“We're a voluntary organisation primarily concerned with the development and maintenance of freshwater fisheries in the Snowy Mountains especially in and around Jindabyne,” says president Murray Ogilvie.

“We also work closely with the NSW Department of Industry and Investment (Fisheries) in the stocking of fresh water lakes and rivers, maintenance of habitats and, we also contribute to policy and legislation affecting fishing in NSW.”

The group intends to invite guest speakers to its upcoming meetings and hopes to be able share valuable and fun information about fishing, conservation and tips between members.

Those interested in joining can call  Eric Burns on 0434 352 664 or Glenn Rayner 6456 2989
