I have posted this elsewhere but people may find it useful as a small compendium of emergency contact numbers and websites during the current flood crisis.

Hope it is of some assistance.


Emergency Contacts

Whole-of-Government website: A whole-of-Government website has been established This site is being promoted as the central point for the media and public to visit for flood information. The site hubs out to all Queensland Government agencies, and to the websites of many non-Government organisations involved in the flood emergency.

State Emergency Service: For flood and emergency assistance call 13 25 00 When to call this number: damaged roof, rising flood water, fallen trees on buildings, storm damage

Road conditions: Call 13 19 40 or visit

Hotline for Lockyer Valley situation: Queensland Police Service has established a hotline for people to enquire about friends and relatives affected by flash flooding in Withcott and Grantham and surrounding areas and to register people in evacuation centres. Phone 1300 993 191

Building safety: Building Services Authority has received numerous calls to its call centre and has established a disaster recovery section on its website. Visit
Health issues: Concerned members of the public can call 13 Health (13 43 25 84) to access a range of health information, including information about getting access to experts on the ground, including mental, physical and environmental experts and teams. This includes counselling services as well. Call Triple 000 in an emergency

Brisbane River floodmaps: Visit
Brisbane City Council provides up-to-date information on flooding in Brisbane suburbs

Smart Service Queensland: Smart Service Queensland has established a hotline number for flood information. The number is 1800 173 349.

Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal: A separate number, 1800 219 028, has been established for the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.

Animals/wildlife: For wildlife emergencies, marine strandings and pollution incidents - call the Wildlife Hotline on 1300 130 372

RSPCA: Visit the RSPCA lost and found website

Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation: Visit for:
•   Liaison with RSPCA for pets requiring assistance
•   Recovery assistance available
•   Concessional interest rate loans of up to $250,000 for small business operators and primary producers
•   Grants of up to $25,000 for clean up and recovery available to small businesses and primary producers
•   $5000 in freight assistance to producers
•   Information about fodder drops being coordinated by AgForce
•   Monitoring pest and diseases, particularly for water borne outbreaks
