Petrie Creek Fishing Sunshine Coast.
« on: November 12, 2012, 05:24:55 PM »
I am going for a holiday to the Sunny coast around the Maroochydore area and wish to get some fishing done. I have been told that Petrie creek is a good place to start for bass, they also told me to look on google maps for further information. I have done this but still have no idea as to where I can launch my kayak, if anyone has further information on petrie creek it would be great if you shared also some hints to some other fishing sites, cheers

Also can't wait to hit the Bli Bli Barramundi Park! :youbeauty

Petrie or Eudlo creek would both be a fair paddle  from nearest public access suitable for a Yak, which is either upstream from the river ramp on Bradman Ave upstream of the motorway bridge or downstream on the river from Muller Park next to Bli Bli bridge on the Barra Park side.

I might also consider the Maroochy river itself up near Yandina, launch at Vee Rd near the motorway offramp roundabout east of Yandina, or Colemans Rd west of Yandina. Skinny water with some portages over rock shelves
But I have caught some nice Bass in this area.

bli bli fishing park is great fun.  I went there when i was little and had a ball.  Both my brother and i caught 2 fish each around the 30cm mark.  the best part is your nearly always get a fish.  Keep in mind though you will have to consider that fish tea as its you caught and you've bought it type of pond.

Nah you dont have to buy them if you dont want. Just use the pellets they have there. Berley up, use light line, small worm hook and chuck a pellet on, then enjoy!
