Got my days mixed up anyway. Got the kids on Sunday so can't go. I thought I had them on Saturday...changed a day with the ex so I can have them for Father's Day next week.

Oh something i forgot to mention, late on the second day, I first heard a splash on the water, looked around to see the ripples on the water. Then a cod jumped clean out of the water, not once but twice...I reckon it must have been chancing something on the water...amazing stuff. I tied on a surface lure but nothing, well it was time to go. But interesting to see a cod do it.

Cheers

:OMG I've seen carp do it a bit, especially pre-spawn females, but I've not seen cod leap clear of the water. Seen them come half out to take a lure, bird etc but never fully out.

cheers,

fitz..

I once tried to cross a Mexican Jumping Flea with a Cod so I could have a Cod which jumped, but I just ended up with really itchy cods.

Saw the same thing on thursday. Heard some big surface boofs then later some splashes. Finally gave up on the snag i was fishing (had had a hit there) and headed over to the splashes only to see a 50 odd cm cod leap clear of the water. He did the same thing about 5 or 6 times and I thought maybe he was hooked on a set line but there was nothing there.
