Winter time means Bass at Baroon Pocket for me.
Didn't bother with a North Pine Permit this year, so wont be going there.

g'day Yak fish,

Atm i have 3 rods for the dams

first rod is mainly  for casting (cast for ages) 3-5 kg sahara rod with a 2500 penn size reel with 4lb nanoline and 8lb vanish leader

2nd rod is my bait/trolling(as it doesn't cast very far)  its simply a Jarvis walker red devil junior with 8lb trilene line and 8lb leader.

both these rods have caught  river bass (up to 50cm) and fat catfish to eels

the 3rd is a very light set up for threadfin.  5 to 10kg kmart rod with 4000 penn i think (i got with the sahara rod thanks to a bcf deal) size reel.  14lb mainline and when i'm fishing in dams its 8lb leader with a spinnerbait on the end or its trolling.

I will point out now that haven't caught anything at the Big w >:(  however it should be strong enough to tackle bass and yellowbelly.

There's plenty of information on the net about the setup and lures to use for dams.  This one is pretty good  www.fishnyak.com

Hope this helps and good luck with your adventures,

Cheers Brad
