Barney I saw a dogger over in West Aus a while back and he had one of those Sharps rifles. He used it on camels. He reckoned you don't want to carry it too far but it slowed the camels pretty well.

yes that would be right JD l reckon mine weighed about 20lbs it was a long barrel version. l kept the metal butt plate on it , recoil wasnt so bad.
l can imagine camels not being fond of it...lol , a few times l saw mid-sized porkers lifted off their feet lol
