European Carp are a big problem in southern Queensland waterways. Laying millions of eggs a year, this pest fish outcompetes native species and is now the world’s most widely distributed freshwater fish.
The Carp Buster Fishing Series helps raise awareness about issues impacting on our waterways, all while you’re having fun with the family along some of the region’s beautiful rivers!
The 2014/2015 series began in Mungindi in September 2014 and ends in Surat in June 2015.
Prizes awarded on mystery amounts of Carp across all six events. You must have registered for at least 3 of the 6 events to be eligible for the major prizes.
The $3,500 prize pool ($500 donated by each fishing club) will be awarded to the top 6 mystery amounts. $100 will be awarded for most Carp
