Go Pro Helmet Hero HD Camera
(1/1)
Sweetwater:
After recently dropping my Go Pro Helmet Hero HD water proof video camera overboard I purchased a new model which I'd already been eyeing off. Seemed like a good excuse to get the latest model.
I was disappoint that they would sell you a camera & LCD screen add-on but don't tell you it won't work without a software update. The update doesn't affect the camera's use if you're not using the LCD screen, so why not just have the software already loaded into the camera?? So after 2 days of frustration GoPro support replies with email saying it needs a firmware update.... I went back to the store of purchase & in the time since I'd purchased mine they must have had a few people come back with same complaint. They had a note up to staff instructing on the need for the update which is free to download from manufacturers website, which needs to be loaded onto your SD card & a combination of buttons pushed to load it to the camera, then delete the file from your SD card. The staff were helpful & did the update for me in a few minutes.
Also, new version saves as MP4 files where the old model used AVI files. I prefer AVIs so I then had to download a MP4 to AVI converter & run all files through this before using them. Think I want my old one back......
I've only shot a couple of shot segments so far so I can't really comment on its use. However it is like the previous model it will be a great camera.

Here's a free one that I tested & it worked ok. Don't have to be a member or pay anything. Didn't appear to pick up any viruses, trojans or trackers from the site, but as always follow links to unknown / untrusted external websites at your own risk & with max protection turned on.
