Wilderness Systems Ride 115/ Tarpon 100 Comparision
« on: September 29, 2012, 07:22:13 PM »
I bought a WS Ride 115 this week, I am in the middle of rigging it but here is some comparison shots to the Tarpon 100 which own also and intend to keep as a spare kayak...apart from being a great fishing kayak is the ability to fish while standing up.

The bottom of the Hull of the Tarpon 100

The topside of the Tarpon 100

The underside of the Ride 115, notice the tri hull, this makes it stable for standing.

The Underside of the hull now has a replaceable wear skid.

The larger size orbix hatch makes an appearance at the front of the Ride 115, the best hatches on the market

The top side of the Ride 115

A massive seating/standing area, at last a cup holder that drains, and some flat areas for holding lures, and a flat deck to make it easy to stand.

The seat moves forward and back so you can trim the kayak according to the weight on board or the seat can be moved to the back so there is ample room for standing...

Solid lifting handles and the centre hatch is slanted so it is easy to take rods in and out.

The other thing on this kayak, which is a feature on all Wilderness Systems kayaks is that it is Rudder Ready, the rudder line tubes are pre Installed. here is a link to the Specs on the Wilderness Site, http://www.wildernesssystems.com/news_item/index/news_and_events/news/2012_ride_115_specs?fb_action_ids=471105706245217&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=aggregation&fb_aggregation_id=288381481237582

I will have pictures up soon of the kayak fully rigged...

Cheers

Thanks for posting Sel, looks good.

I agree,  love the Wilderness Systems hatches. They seal well and are effortless to open while on the water.

Whats the RRP on one of these beauties?

Cheers,
Dave.

$1199...cheap as, you get a lot of plastic for this, and the seat omg, how comfortable is it. Will hit the river this week to give it a go and then up to Caloundra the following week to hit the whiting flats again...

Cheers
