The Red Back Phoenix

Here's my latest creation designed as a Cod lure but should pull the bass as well. It is shaped out of Oregon using a jigsaw upside down in a vise with the blade reversed - a bit of an OH&S disaster waiting to happen but hell I've got ten digits. After the basic shape was cut as close as possible to the shape (a Flatz Ratz sort of shape) it was sanded by hand down through the grades and a wood filler used to fill any imperfections. A few hours later it was sanded back again then given repeated multiple coats with spray pak enamel paint. I came up with a nice looking red belly black top dusted with gold the stuffed up big time getting it too close to a heat source bubbling the finished. Rather peeved I stripped and sanded it back then repainted it in the red back colours hence the "Phoenix" reference - from the ashes of stupidity the lure rose reborn !!! The bib is made out of the really tough plastic that the clear blue springwater 10 L bottles are made of cut out of the flat bit between the neck and the sides. The trebles are VMC #4 3X Strong. Cheers Pat

Cheers mate I tried to add a sequence of the lure making but I think I had the wrong "window" to start with. Here's the basic process. Pat
