Title: Airbrush gun to choose?
Post by: Craidon69 on June 01, 2013, 06:25:21 PM
Hi Guys,

Thinking about having a go at making my own crankbaits. Is it worth going to a Iwata gun straight away? Or some of the cheaper ones ok? And is there somewhere local around Ipswich for painting supplies?

Regards
Craig

If your new to it go to the local mitre 10 grab an el cheapo suction airbrush (pot underneath) and a couple small tins of white knight acrylic enamel, Water cleanup and water thinning.

Im still using the same thing ( not for long ) but plenty of them catching fish  :youbeauty

Cheers for that. Got a few old lures I thought I would strip down and have a go at repainting. Wanted to try them first before either making my own or buying plastic blanks and painting them ready for Sept. A mate has just started and said its suprisingly easy to get a half decent pattern and finish on them with only a little bit of practice. Will check out the display at the expo next week

We will have one of the best lure painters around the SE corner doing demos at the Expo, Brian Power will be showing all the steps to creating your own piece of fishing art.

Cheers Brad

Thanks Brad,

Will be checking the lure making demos out for sure. Dont really care about being pieces of art or not, as long as they catch fish and dont cost me $15 min each time I lose one!

Cheers Craig
