Hi There,

I thought I read somewhere no access was allowed from Kholo Bridge? I would like to know, as I live not far from there and am wanting to get back into bass fishing and really would like to know where I can do some "bank based" lure fishing form.

No access permitted anywhere downstream of Kholo Bridge to the Mt Crosby Weir. It is a water quality buffer zone / animal refuge.

On the spot fine of $1000 if you're caught in there.

Thanks Sweetwater,

Any restrictions on upstream of the bridge? And is there any easy access points for fishing off the bank?

Cheers

No restrictions upstream of the Kholo Bridge.

A good spot to fish from the shore is via the Botanical Gardens just upstream via Riverside Drive. you can walk right down to the river on a path.

Thanks. I think I know the path, just never realised it went right to the river. Went checking out the river from the dam back with morning, and noticed the main bridge the otherside of Fernvale, twin bridges on Wivenhoe Pocket Rd and a access point just before you get into Lowood. Are these spots any good? Would think so if you walk up and down the banks?

yes just above twin bridges is good spot on other side from fernvale , theres a 4wd track , but its easy i can get my car down there a road car with body kit, u can launch from there , its realy good for bass, cause my first bass there in a row boat , my mates have kayaks they siad u can enter further up near locker creek  entry into brisbane river , but u have to ask the owner of property, im not sure, never been there.
