The
Perfect Cast
An
un-known creek, a swirling lie,
A perfect cast, a favourite fly.
You
shoot your line, You see it land,
You see the strike, You set your hand.
The
fight begins, the mental rush,
The four pound test, the waters gush.
The
screaming reel, the slippery moss,
The thrashing fish, the sudden loss.
With
one great leap, with one big flip,
With one small splash, with one small slip.
You
hear the jump, You see the flash,
You felt the slack, You know that splash!
Another
fish, another fly,
Another creek, another try.
