Wyaralong Dam - Boonah . Qld

Situated between Boonah and Beaudesert lays South East Queensland's newest impoundment, Wyaralong Dam.
Built on Teviot Brook in 2011, the lake has a surface area of around 1230 hectares with the dam holding some 102 883 mega-litres of water when full.

When the dam was built, there was a trapped population of Europrean Carp which has continued to breed in the newly flooded waters.
Fish restocking with native fish is being planned by the Logan & Albert Fish Management Assn ( LAFMA Qld
) with planned liberations of Australian Bass and Mary River Cod.
There is an annual Carp Fishing Competition on Lake Wyaralong, see the Sweetwater Events Page for details.

Lake Wyaralong is open to boating activities however outboard motors may not be operated. Electric motor may only be used.
There is a No Boating / No Fishing zone around the dam wall. Fines apply.
A concrete ramp is provided.

There are three camping grounds in the Mt Joyce Recreation park on the northern side of the lake. Download the Mt Joyce Visitors Guide HERE>>>
Alternatively there are tourist parks and motels about 15 minute drive to the east of the lake. See Accommodation page for details.
