Situated
between Boonah and Beaudesert lays South East Queensland's
newest impoundment, Wyaralong Dam.
Built on Teviot Brook in 2011, the lake has a surface area
of around 1230 hectares with the dam holding some 102 883
mega-litres of water when full.
Fishing
When the dam was built, there was a trapped population of
Europrean Carp which has continued to breed in the newly
flooded waters.
Fish restocking with native fish is being planned by the
Logan & Albert Fish Management Assn ( LAFMA Qld )
with planned liberations of Australian Bass and Mary River
Cod.

Boating
Lake Wyaralong is open to boating activities however outboard
motors may not be operated. Electric motor may only be used.
There
is a No Boating / No Fishing zone around the dam wall. Fines
apply.
A concrete ramp is provided.
Camping
There are three camping grounds in the Mt Joyce Recreation
park on the northern side of the lake. Download the Mt Joyce

Alternatively
there are tourist parks and motels about 15 minute drive
