Love a Sprung October
« on: October 17, 2012, 09:36:40 PM »
This time of year seems to figure prominantly in my fish catch albums, maybe because you get more motivated to go and throw a line as the spring weather progresses or/also because fish do genuinely get more fire up at this time of year. The first bass are showing up in our home creek in the upper reaches of the Richmond - my sone Jules (not me >:() got a seasonal opener on Saturday  - suggesting more will be on the way once we get a spring flow,.. had a job in north Queensland last week as well - last month of the barra season tends to get me going when I get an opportunity (which I tried toi make after work every day I was there ;D) - fish start to fire as the water day time temps go up - warning attached photos show a few dead fish - tend to get a bit mercenary about having fillet in the freezer as closed season approaches - had a couple of amazing after dark shitter pop seshions - which included a sweetwater jack - culminated at the end of the week in a 90 cm fish that involved a bit of hand to hand combat to get it landed through the lillies !  Got enough barra to cover a couple of summer veranda gatherings ;)

Only problem Jim is you have to carry all those fillets out!  ::)
Some nice size ones for the plate.

No worries with that Binder necessity is the mother of invention  8), plus I've always found that the effort involved in carrying out the results of a successul fishin seshion never seems too hard ;)
