I find it interesting that no one pays any attention to ANSA's rules in regards to fishing comps. Upgrades NOT allowed! They are supposed to be the peak body in regards to comps aren't they?
The search function appears to be disabled and I can not find a link to the site rules.Does the site have a policy of only showing photographs where the fish is fully supported or is it just because most contributers are fully aware of the damage that can be done by not supporting a fish correctly whilst out of the water. CheersRay
For every ABT comp run, the organisers donate $5.00 per entrant to the Stocking Group of that lake. Well, they do in Queensland anyway. $5.00 buys about 20 Fingerlings, so even if every entrant kills two Bass the fishery is still better off for them being there. Many people lose sight of the fact that Stocked Impoundments are a put and take fishery.
Lording ANSA on this subject is way off the mark. Since when is chasing big fish on 2lb line helping their survival? As I said, there is no point ranting here, how many competition gurus do you see posting here? Your best bet would be to take your fight to them, rather than shadow box here.
Put and take fisheries are great but if everyone starts catching and releasing in a damaging way to the fish then it will become a catch and kill fishery.Rebuttal please Steve
