Goodna
« on: June 21, 2015, 03:58:55 AM »
G'day boys,

Just moved from Sydney (Sorry bout game 2) and was looking for a good fishing store in the Ipswich corridor. I live in the Goodna area and was looking for a good local store with good gear and possibly some inside tips for the local dams. Your help is much appreciated.

Cheers,

Freddy

Thanks Ray much appreciated.

Just one more question, I was wondering if you or anyone else knew off the top of your head if they stock any of the versus tackle boxes? I have been seeing them around more and more lately and really want to get my hands on one as they look to be in my opinion the best tackle box out at the moment.

Yes they do, and if the one you want is not in stock they can get it in for you

I frequent a few tackle shops around the place, and can say honestly that Charltons are not expensive when compared to any others in Brisbane.  The "big name" stores may be cheaper if you are happy to buy cr@p, but if you want quality products, stick with a reputable tackle store.  Charltons have remained competitive for many years, and at least when you shop there you get to talk to a fisherman who uses the products.  I was in that big name three initial shop in Ipswich recently and overheard the kid behind the counter telling customers that the best place to fish was right below Mt. Crosby weir.  He forgot to mention, or didn't know, that he was telling people to fish in closed waters.

Exactly on the point there Aussie. I would much rather see my money going back to a small business rather than one of the big chain stores.

Don't get me started on people fishing in closed waters. Kills me every time.  Is it a big problem in the South East?

Yep. Read thru some other areas here & you'll see where some idiots have been names & shamed.
