Warwick Region Fishing Report 17/2/15

LESLIE DAM: Most anglers are reporting on things being much the same as last week.  We received reports of a few fish being landed near the dam wall, but numbers weren’t great.  The bait anglers had mixed results, with reports of anglers fishing the top of the dam having success on saltwater yabbies and shrimps.  There were also a few legal sized Golden Perch landed in the main basin.  One local angler managed to land some nice fish on Sunday afternoon while using blades around the rocks opposite the dam wall.  There were also a few fish landed while trolling hard body lures.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam has been a little slow, with not too many reports of legal sized fish.  Worms proved to be the most successful over the weekend, with one angler landing two nice Golden Perch and one Silver Perch for his efforts.  There was also a lovely65cm Murray Cod landed on Saturday on a Jackall Pompadour.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: Both local Bass dams were extremely busy with boat traffic over the weekend, with not too many fish being landed.  Soft Plastics seemed to be the most successful at both dams, accounting for a few nice fish in the trees tight in the weed beds.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The waterways to the east of Warwick are still proving to be the best sports to try, with a Killarney angler landing a lovely 67cm Murray Cod on surface.  He also managed to land a Golden Perch measuring 52cm on a hard body.
There has also been a few big Carp landed on the town area on corn.
One young angler also had success on Saturday afternoon near Wheatvale, landing a lovely 62cm Murray Cod and a few Golden Perch.Sorry, only registered users can see this content. Please Login or Register.
