That fish was a bloody pig.I could not get it to lay straight cause of its guts and that picture doesnt really do it justice.Would have been 4 kg at a guess. Madness, fat bugger.
An absolute cracker
Yes, it's the longest recorded in the comp, and definitely the fattest. I think there was a 56 caught in the River last year or the year before. Someone claimed a 60 once, however the photo didn't reflect that size. You don't see many Bass that could wear a saddle.
You have to wonder just how much all these 60cm + fish that are supposedly being caught weigh. Congratulations Steve.
I've got to say that Steve did not say a thing, nor did he complain at all. However credit given where credit is due, he caught the fish fair & square so should be recognized.
Fitzy to me this is an example of the differences between a genuine angler, and some others who like to see their name in magazines quoting tackle brand and equipment to gain kudos.Compliments to both Sel and Steve on their actions.
From memory, Steve may have been equal bass record holder for the event at 56cm. That horse will take some beating for sure.
