Vic; Cumberland river, Lorne

Hey guys. After one of the wetter years of the last 10 or so, the Surf Coast and Otway waterways are nice and full. Wurdi Buloc and West Barwon Dam are at or near capacity and well worth a trip with good trout and redfin being landed in both.
I shot down the coast and fished Cumberland river near Lorne a week ago. The river has dropped a bit but the fish are still keen. First and last light is best and this time of year you can expect the fish to respond well to arvo caddis hatches. After walking way up the river for nothing, I ended up catching this brown about 30m from my car after I lay down on the lawn with a stubbie. He took a dry caddis imitation. Only 35cm but great fun.
