Home made attractant for soft plastics

I am going to have a go at making my own fish attractant and this is the recipe I have come up with

500g big w fish oil
90 ml aniseed oil
500g glucose
500g minced garlic
200g liver paste
10g salt
Plain flour till thick

I want to use this as a paste on soft plastics. Any suggestions to improve the brew would be appreciated.

Probably be easier to use a prawn or a shrimp

Haha. True. But I am enjoying using plastics for yellow belly at moment.

I really like s factor, but prefer locally made plastics over the squidgy range. Hence why I want to make my own attractant.

Garlic spray from Woolworths or Coles

I can still smell that spilt Garlic at Awoonga Fitz.....
Garlic infused cooking oil spray.

I had a bit of a play with attractants under the bridge at Potsville.  Top of the tide, very clear water, bream everywhere.

Tested s factor and a few others and actually put the plastics right on there noses.  Nothing obvious to report, nothing caught, toads followed the lure in.

What did catch a few was the action.   Worth a test, but handy if you can watch it happening in clear water.

Absolutely agree that the action is most important.

I only think of attractant as something that "might" improve converting cautious strikes at the plastic in to a more committed bite.

               I still spend a lot of time in the rustwater and I love using live herring. I hate  castnets and bait nets. I like to actually use live herring so I catch them on bait jigs. The problem is that at times a whole days fishing can go to hell because the fussy herring won't eat the jigs. I got desperate one day and smeared all of the jigs with s factor. Since then I have always caught herrings when I wanted them. Desperation not necessity is the mother of invention. Ron.

Is tuna oil any good,& what about this garlic dye stuff?
What about the oil over chook pellets in a burley bucket thrown in the river? Does that bring em around?
Any info would be great.

Garlic paste parmasien chesse and the juice from can tuna in spring water. can't go wrong mate mix it all togther then let your sp baits sit in there for while before casting .

I honestly tend to have more luck without scent applications. Both fresh and salty water, I have given a few different ones a run. From squidge jizz to that procure, neither seemed to make any noticable difference! These days, the plastic gets slapped on the jig head and off they go into the wet stuff!
