You've gotta give it to forkies, they can turn a bad days fishing into fun....
If you don't want to catch them, you can change your lure work and almost totally eliminate them. Using bait unfortunately makes it hard to avoid them.

No stocked fish Ray?

Cheers

7 bass 7 forkies.
The forkies at that size certainly are a challenge on light gear but would rather catch 50 cm bass any day but unfortunately they are pretty rare these days at NPD.
The forkies make good redclaw bait but do stink out your boat.
Have a look at the size of the bonies that they were regurgitating.
Cheers

bass all released .
Forkies = redclaw bait if I happen to have a couple of pots in otherwise have ethnic friends who love any freshwater forkies either way not released  enough pest fish in dams.
The forkies are supposed to be very nice smoked my mate even just guts them and  dries them whole.
 They look terrible.
 Cheers
Ray

A mate reckoned he tried smoking them once. Said they were damn hard to roll and he couldn't keep them lit.

I think most fish that have been feeding on bony bream can often taste average.
