Recreation Update (Wednesday, 19 January 08.00am) Due to the recent inflows of water into lakes in South East Queensland, most Seqwater sites remain closed for various reasons relating to the flood event. There are high risks of debris and high risks of potential water quality issues in the lakes at this time. Public safety is one of our prime concerns, and recreation sites will be re-opened as soon as it is practical and safe to do so. Seqwater will assess the conditions at each lake before deciding whether to re-open each lake to on-water recreation activities. Please check the specific page for each of the lakes for further information. All recreation sites at Lake Somerset and Lake Wivenhoe (including the Spillway Lookout recreation area at Lake Wivenhoe) will remain closed until further notice. Until further notice, the Lake Wivenhoe Information Centre will also be closed to the public.
