Lures by StevenM - The “Tiny Tait-RR’s.”
« on: January 07, 2013, 10:24:14 AM »
Not exactly bass lures, well that was not their primarily build purpose but sure they would work.

Made these for a guy that lives in Ireland. He saw what I was making on another kayak forum and gave me a challenge to build him a lure to catch northern hemisphere pike.

I said sure and surprisingly when I asked him what size lure he wanted and what attributes he advised me he wanted something around the 5-6 cm long with abit of a wobble.
He has a particular shape in mine but after a bit of too and fro I advised him that I wanted to put a bit of shape into it that reflected the target species.

This is what I came up with

He gave me his colour and this is what I gave him back. Running size 6 trebbles in black nickel. One deep and one shallow diver.

I gave them a swim yesterday and they wobble and roll nicely. Might have to build some for myself now to chase some natives.

Hope you like the name btw. Bit of a reflection on where they are going.  ;D

Sounds like a perfect size shape and action for a bass lure to me!
