One thing I have noticed since moving to Central Qld. It is like a disease for most of the fishos up here. Barra fishing. They target nothing else. Boats, shore based, any way imaginable. Any other  species is forgotten about in both the fresh and salt water. Son in law and his dad have been nailing the grunter in the rusty part of the Boyne lately but everyone else is after barra. I recently had a weekend at Mondy and did not catch any but have not even tried much around here. I could fish off the rocks in the Calliope River and perhaps get one but not all that interested to be honest. It will cool down soon and all the fishos will get some recovery time. LOL The other half is always at me to target the barra. She likes eating barra. I don't..yuck!!!! The scenery in some of the places in the streams around here far surpasses any fishing activity. It is great to just go for a paddle on the yak and soak up the peace and serenity.
