Liechardt Dam ( Lake Mary Kathleen ) - 35 Km E of Mt Isa.

Leichardt Dam, formerly known as Lake Mary Kathleen, was
built in 1961 to supply the township of the now closed Mary
Kathleen Uranium Mine.
It has a full supply capacity of 12 100 mega litres, a surface
area of 150 hectares at an average depth of 8.1 meters.
Fish present
Sooty Grunter, Archerfish, Alligator Gar (Long Tom), Sleepy
Cod, Strpied Sleepy Cod and Redclaw crayfish.

Boating
Open to all forms of boating, no restrictions apply.
No concrete boat ramp, however boats can be luanched with
care from gravel ramp.
Road
Access
The road from the Barkly Highway to the lake is very rocky
and should only be undertaken with a 4x4 or high vehicle.
Camping
Camping is permitted at East Leichardt Dam however there
are no facilities provided.
