Lake
Julius was built in 1976 for irrigation and town water storage
just below the junction of the Leichardt River and Paroo
Creek.
It has a full supply capacity of 127 000 mega litres, a
surface area of 1420 hectares at an average depth of 8.9
meters.
Fish present
Barramundi, Saratoga, Sooty Grunter, Archerfish, Alligator
Gar (Long Tom), Sleepy Cod, Strpied Sleepy Cod and Fork-Tailed
Catfish.
Stocked Fish
Barramundi and Northen Saratoga. Sooty Grunter have a self
sustaining population in Lake Julius.

Open to all forms of boating, no restrictions apply.
A concrete boat ramp is provided.
Camping
Camping is permitted below the dam wall at Lake Julius.
